The Great Ocean Cleanup

The battle has begun. Our oceans contain over 5 TRILLION pieces of plastic.

The Ocean Cleanup Project has launched the worlds first technological solution to this ever growing problem. A full scale deployment of its system is predicted to clean up 50% of Great Pacific Garbage Patch every 5 years.

Across the world there are five ocean garbage patches where rubbish from the surrounding seas accumulate. One of the largest is located in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and California.

On September 8 2018, System 001 was launched. System 001 is a pioneering project and intends to prove its concept in the largest accumulation zone of the oceans plastic pollution. The first of 56 deployments.

This is just one of the ways in which the battle against plastic pollution can be won. Learn more about the Ocean Cleanup Project at
